Company Registration Checklist
A checklist of documents and information necessary for incorporation of a company in India:
- Selection of name and name approval
- Apply for Director Identification Number or DIN for each Director
- Apply for incorporation of company

1) Selection of name and name approval

- Promoters should select a name based on the main objects of the company.
- A company can select six names in the order of preference
- Names chosen should be unique and not resemble the names of any existing companies
- Names chosen should not violate the provisions of emblems and names (Prevention of Improper Use Act, 1950)
- Run the name availability check on the MCA portal
- In case of proposed name based on a trademark, consent from trademark owner
- Apply for name approval by filing the required E-form and payment of fee
- The E-form should be digitally signed with a DSC.
2) Apply for Director Identification Number or DIN for each Director

- Copy of PAN card self-attested
- Copy of Id proof self-attested (other than PAN) which may be driving licence, passport, voter id card
- Copy of residential proof self-attested which may be electricity bill, telephone bill, bank statement – not older than two months)
- Place of birth
- Current address
- Occupation
- Educational qualification
- Each Director must have a DSC
3) Apply for incorporation of company

- Detailed description of the objects of the company
- Authorised capital and subscription of each shareholder
- Details of address, PAN and Aadhaar of each shareholder (with proofs)
- Electricity bill as proof of registered office of the company (not older than two months)
- Rental agreement of the registered office or municipal tax paid receipt
- NOC from landlord in case of rented premises
- Photo of passport size of Directors
- Mobile number and e-mail Id of all Directors
- DIN of all Directors
- e-MOA (INC-33) and e-AOA (INC-34) filing as linked forms to INC-32.
- An Affidavit on a Stamp Paper is to be given by all the subscribers of the Company to state their willingness to become the shareholders of the Company
NOTE: A company can apply for PAN and TAN along with the application in SPICe+ form (INC-32) for registration of the company. Similarly, an application to open bank account in the name of the company. A company can also apply for GST, EPFO and ESIC registration, wherever applicable.
